Vitamin D3 is the physiologically active form of vitamin D. It is essential for the proper functioning of numerous organs and for bone metabolism. It supports the body in maintaining healthy bones, muscles, and teeth. Furthermore, it contributes to a healthy immune system and is important for calcium absorption.

Vitamin D is primarily produced in the skin through exposure to UVB rays from the sun. However, in our latitudes, reduced sun exposure during the winter months often leads to a vitamin D deficiency. Even in summer, the use of sunscreen hinders the synthesis of vitamin D3 in the skin. Therefore, the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends supplementing the diet with vitamin D3.

The production of vitamin D3 follows the same process as the body's own production via the skin. In this process, for example, a component of natural yeast cells is irradiated with UV light, resulting in the formation of vitamin D3.

The combination with MCT oil , which is derived from the finest coconut oil, allows our vitamin D3 to be absorbed and metabolized particularly well by the body. This results in high bioavailability for our vitamin D drops.

MCT oil
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides, which are medium-chain fatty acids. Specifically, these are caprylic and capric acid. MCTs are metabolized much more efficiently than other fats. Furthermore, the body preferentially uses them for quick energy and they are not stored.
