What does CDL stand for?

CDL is the abbreviation for chlorine dioxide solution. It is an aqueous solution with a chlorine dioxide content of 0.3 percent. Chlorine dioxide is a chlorine-oxygen compound that is approved for drinking water disinfection according to the German Drinking Water Ordinance and decomposes into oxygen, table salt, and water after the reaction.

What is the difference between CDL and CDS?

Both terms describe a chlorine dioxide solution in water. CDS stands for Chlorine Dioxide Solution, CDL for the German term "Chlordioxidlösung". In terms of concentration and application for drinking water disinfection, they refer to the same product; only the name differs.

Is Life Solution's CDL an approved product?

Yes. If you want to buy CDL, Life Solution provides a registered biocidal product following an officially authorized procedure. According to Section 11 of the German Drinking Water Ordinance, chlorine dioxide is recognized as a disinfectant for drinking water.

What is the optimal CDL dosage?

The exact dosage may depend on water quality, degree of contamination and area of application. Often, 4 drops per liter of water are sufficient.

After the reaction, it decomposes into oxygen, table salt, and water.
Its safety in drinking water has been proven in several studies. For example, in a highly publicized placebo-controlled double-blind study at the University of Ohio, USA.

How long does CDL last?

CDL eXtra can be stored for at least three to four years at room temperature in its unactivated state. After activation, it has a shelf life of approximately 9 months and should be stored in the refrigerator. The Duo also has a shelf life of 2 years.
